Hello world!

Hello world and welcome to mine! This is a site that I have dedicated to using as a forum to do a few things, that is of course as time permits.  I wrote a book recently and instead of just promoting the book, I want to promote a concept; honesty.  By that I mean honest in relationships and not just the romantic kind.  Now, I am aware honesty itself is not a new concept, but I find it intriguing that we as humans find it very difficult to always be honest, especially when it is most critical.  It isn’t always that we don’t want to; but we feel we can’t.

As a lover of music, I decided to name this site Relationships Unsugarcoated because to me it was reminiscent of music unplugged.  When music is unplugged it is raw and genuine in the way that makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up.  You don’t just hear the music, you feel it because there isn’t the barrier of any facade or manipulation, but just authenticity.  That is what Relationships Unsugarcoated represents.

It will be comprised of blogs and random short writing pieces that I put together on a weekly basis.  We have a series called Dear Aalia.  I encourage the audience to write me their questions and I will answer them.  As part of the series, some questions will be featured on the site, without compromising anyone’s identity, of course.  The goal is to set the standard that here is a place of truth.  It may not be perfect or always easy to hear, but it will be honest.  I look forward to hearing feedback from everyone as the site builds.  It is still new and coming along but it is happening!

Stay tuned for upcoming events to see me as I go to different places promoting the book!  I don’t just promote the book but I look for opportunities to enlighten and encourage women and men on the topics of relationships and self-love.  Live your truth and find your adventure!

Cheers!

Aalia
